SNEAK PREVIEWS FOR READERS OF ALL AGES

advance reader copy Before a book is printed and goes on library shelves or on sale in bookstores, publishers produce what are called "advance readers copies" or "galleys." They are sent to book reviewers and booksellers as a way of promoting the book. It's a sort of sneak preview.

Starting in September, The Ossining Review of Books will offer a wide range of advance readers copies -- for free. There will be books for grownups, teens and kids. Readers will be asked to share their thoughts about the book -- before most anyone else has read it. The advance readers copies will be on the shelves near the downstairs bathroom. Be the first on your block to read a book that's yet to be published.

We're asking readers to share their thoughts about the new books they're previewed. Basically, would you recommend it to other readers? Why or not why? What did you like about the book? Or not like about it? Forms to fill out will be available with the books. Or e-mail: bob@ossininglibrary.org.
