PETER FALK'S NEW MEMOIR, JUST ONE MORE THING

PETER FALK

Actor Peter Falk, a graduate of Ossining High School, has written a memoir, Just One More Thing. It's mostly about his acting career — in the movies, TV and theater, but he mentions Ossining several times.

He recalls OHS and the second play of his acting career (the first was in summer camp when he was 13.)

Falk writes: "It was a fluke. At the last minute one of the kids in the senior class play got sick. As the class president, they came to me to save the day by filling in and taking over the sick kid's part. The play was a melodrama, Double Door by E. McFadden. My character only appeared in one scene. He was the detective that showed up in the last act and solved the mystery. That's God truth, but if you're skeptical, call Ossining High School."

The book includes a photo of Falk as a member of the OHS baseball team and a more recent one of him with former schoolmate Bobby Yerks when Falk visited Ossining last fall when his old street, Prospect Avenue, was renamed Peter Falk Place.

During his book tour, Falk is scheduled to speak twice at the Makor/Steinhardt Center of 92nd Street Y, 35 W. 67 St., on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 4 pm, and on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
