The lineup is filled with murder, dark secrets and plot twists. It begins May 23 with Stuart Kaminsky's Midnight Pass. On June 13, the group will discuss John Clifford Mortimer's Rumpole and the Primrose Path. And on July 18, Robert Crais' The Forgotten Man.

Here's what Vincent says about the books he's chosen:
Mystery book group

I am an avid mystery reader, I teach writing on a college level for undergraduates and I chose some of the more colorful mystery writers as examples for my writing class.

Kaminsky, whether using Abe Lieberman, his Chicago police detective or Lew Conseca, his Florida process server and finder of lost people, has created fully fleshed-out characters, people that readers can associate with, in real life or from watching dramas such as " Law and Order," etc.

Mortimer took a satirical swipe at the legal profession; he gave us a look at the frailties of characters who might very well have existed, from the infamous Timsons, Rumpole's legal-aid, bread and butter to the politics of the Chambers of Law where snobbery and personal prejudice worked hand-in-hand with real defense of the 'accused'.

Crais was chosen because I wanted to take a look at an author I had honestly only read one book by. He reminded me of Robert Parker with his Spenser for Hire character but with something extra for the reader.

I chose these three books because I think readers will enjoy them and want to go back for more.

*By the way, if you go to: http://www.nerowolfe.org/, you will see a photographic representation of me as Nero Wolfe. I posed for a local Westchester photographer, who was commissioned to paint a portrait of Nero Wolfe and he chose me.
