AARP Safe Driving Course Returns this Fall!
AARP Safe Driving Course will be offered at OPL on Tuesday, October 19th from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and on Thursday, October 21st from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Budarz Theater. Participants must be 50 yrs. of age or older. Enrollment fees are $12.00 for AARP members and $14.00 for non-members. Participants can pick up forms in the library only. Former Trustee and Past President of OPL Passes Away.
Flora Gee Naar passed away on July 17th 2010, she was 86 years old.
Mrs. Naar was a former newspaper woman and civic activist. Among her many civic interests libraries were chief among them. She was a trustee of the Westchester Library System from 1971-1982, serving as secretary in 1971, vice president from 1973-1974, and president from 1975-1976. At the Ossining Public Library, Mrs. Naar was a trustee from 1956-1975, serving as president from 1963-1975. She also served on the Ossining Board of Education and many other Ossining committees. The library would like to give thanks to Mrs. Naar for her many years of service to the Ossining community and especially to her service at OPL. Her dedication has made the library what it is today!
Summer Loan Policy
Summer Loan begins Thursday, June 10th. Some materials can be borrowed for the entire summer, with a return date of Thursday, September 16th. The materials available for Summer Loan are:
Older Adult Fiction
Older Adult Non-Fiction
Older Adult Books on Cassette/CD.
All other borrowed materials circulate for their normal borrowing periods. Materials borrowed from another library are NOT eligible for summer loan.

The Ossining Public Library is surveying our patrons - and the residents whom we serve generally - to determine their satisfaction with our services and their needs for future services.

WEBS helps participants assess themselves, obtain career and educational information, explore career options, and market themselves. Participants will also learn how to use the internet in their job search. The program is geared to those who are unemployed, changing careers, reentering the workforce or returning to school. Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by appointment only. To make an appointment, register at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor or call 941-2416 ext. 320.
